Hunting Season is upon us
Anyone ready, or getting ready? What's your game?
We were late putting out our feeder 2 weeks ago. Right now, I'm in the process of building a platform for deer/hog. I'm also building a nice duck blind out of PVC and sheet metal. I'm having fun building it and it's not costing a whole lot in materials.
I've never hunted duck before. We get a few in our pond, but this will be the first time learning how to call them and shoot. I'll probably either scare them away with my call or miss the shot. I'll be happy getting just one as I'm in it for the experience.

Getting ready for 3rd elk season in Colorado. Grabbed a bear tag as well. The area is full of bear and figured I might as well have a tag if I gotta defend myself!

What are you shooting them with?
I'm using a Rem 700 sendero in 300rum, which is way overkill for the small whitetail here, but would be perfect for your territory.
Here's a pic of the pvc blind. It's now painted, ready for the sheet metal. It breaks down into 2 sections for easy transport.

Damn! That's sweet!
Hunting with a 338 win. It was my brothers gun. He gave it to me before he passed away about 7 years ago. This is the first year I'm hunting with it.
Taking my trusty 270 as well and just acquired a Glock 10mm in case I encounter something higher on the food chain then myself.

Thanksgiving is the first day of late archery season for deer and elk. I missed early season but I'm probably going to hit late season pretty hard because thanks to health issues there are now a lot more people in the family that could use some free meat. It's been years since getting an elk made any sense for me, but now it would benefit a lot of people.
