I just overheard someone in another group being given a verbal warning for being late. He got here at 9:10 and the company hours are 9-5. Seems a little harsh for only 10 minutes late. I don't think my supervisors are quite as strict, but I'm not gonna test it. I haven't actually been late to yet, but I get in every morning at 8:45 and leave around 4:55.
My last job I was supposed to be in at 9 but I usually rolled in around 9:30ish but rarely left before 6. Once in awhile I'd get a reminder that I was supposed to be in at 9. laugh.gif

my old job would talk sh*t about me being there at 7:17 when i was scheduled to be there at 7:30 (as stated in the handbook that was given to me) he wanted me there early to help open the store
but yet i would EXTREMELY RARELY leave on time
im talkin maybe once or twice in 3 months

They're putting in time clocks here... Ugh...
My last job, I'd show up 8 minutes early and leave 8 minutes late... 16 minutes of my time netted me 30 extra on my paycheck smile.gif

i work at starbucks and f*cking hate that place. 1 minute late is late enough to be written up. they want you there five minutes early. i hate when you over sleep or are late in traffic and walk in like an hour late and they tear you a new one. I know i'm supposed to be on time, it happens like two or three times a year to me maybe, and i already feel bad. previous jobs would just shrug it off and realize i'm a good worker and this stuff doesn't happen often.
starbucks is a shitty place to work guys. every customer is a f*cking ass hole and the company is run like a concentration camp. the work they ask you to do is in no way proportional to what they pay you.

My job is pretty strict in fact when the new president of the company came in on his first day he put everyone on notice that if you were late it was a fire-able offense, and that you should plan accordingly. Its not an issue for me since I get there at least 15 minutes early and just donate my time to the company since we aren't able to put down 1/4 hours on the time sheet it has to be 1/2 hours. There was one time I was late and called in cuz there was an accident and he was cool with it cuz I let him know i would be late.
Mine is strict. We have to be logged in and at the press 5 minutes to 11. That usually means I have to be inside by 10:50pm...I wish they would pay me for those 10 minutes.
Pretty leniant here at my work. We have developers, programmers, SEO consultants, and so on that all just kind of show up between 8 and 8:30. Hell...the president of the company usually comes in anywhere between 10-10:30, and leaves between 1 and 2. laugh.gif
My hours are 8-5, but I generally get in between 8-8:15 depending on traffic. Sometimes I take long lunches though, if its a slow day at work, and I usually leave around 10-15 minutes early to avoid rush hour traffic. smile.gif
