I have come to the habit of waiting, sometimes up to 10 seconds when MY light turns green. I often see cars approaching a red light (intersection) and they don't seem to be slowing down. It's amazing to see that a lot of these accidents could have been avoided if the other driver just waited a moment, and made sure everyone who is supposed to stop, stopped.

I always look first, but won't wait unless someone looks like they're gonna run the light.
