Default How many people have fireplaces in their house?

I helped my dad bring 4 truck loads of wood this weekend home. Anyone else here have either a wood or gas fireplace in their house?

Yup. Haven't used it once since I bought the house 4 years ago.

My parents have a large stone fireplace, and growing up we used it maybe 4-5 times per year. Just never been big on using a fireplace. It may be different if we dropped into the negatives or something, but hovering in the 20s-30s with a well insulated home, never had a need or desire for a fire.

That and opening the chimney in your well insulated home actually lets cold air in instead of helping heat. Fireplaces are for looks alone. It only provides heat if you sit within 4 feet of it. My wife and I bought the electric logs for ours. Keep the chimney closed, but the effect alive during the holiday season.

Parents have one. We used it like once a year. It gets cold like 5 days out of the year.

I bought a fire bowl/table for the patio last week. Used it a couple nights already cause a cold front came through and it gets to 60 degrees at night. "It's cold!" lol

Well, we get 95-100 degrees during the summer.

But for the past week, and for the next week, it should be low 80's for the high, and 50's for the low.
