How long does a bicycle chain last?
I'm pushing over 10 years on my rig using the original chain. Bike is kept indoors so rust is not an issue, but I do have some decent mileage on it. At what point should I change the chain as preventive maintenance? Its not showing any wear or stretch that I can tell - but I would hate to have it bust on me at the worse time. Am I being paranoid or do these things last a while?

The links get stretched over time and it can start skipping teeth which sometimes can be dangerous (if you are up from the saddle). Also if you keep using it like that, the cogwheels get worn down easier as well.
10 years is a lot, I would change it.
