I'm Korean and I must say non-Korean people have a really hard time pronouncing Korean words like Hyundai. It's actually impossible to write it out in English
And, often times, I've seen non-Korean person not being able to reproduce the pronounciation exactly.
Having said that, if you guys wanna get closest to the original Korean pronounciation, it'd be "Hee-un-day"
(btw, no hard feelings here, i apologize in advance if this sounded offensive in any shape or form)

I don't understand how you can get "Hun Dai" or "Hun Day" out of "Hy Un Dai". lol, why do you keep the "y" silent for? Funny isn't it, different English speaking cultures with multiple pronunciations. I.e Aluminium

Yeay, Americans say "aluminum".
Yanks also mis-pronounce the word "nuclear" a lot. I've heard heaps of them say "nucular".
"Aussie" is another one. You should say "ozzy" but loads say "ossie" laugh.gif

Get it right, only George dubya can't say nuclear right. He says nook-ler
... 2 i's in aluminum? I'm pretty sure our periodic chart of the elements says "Aluminum" like uh-loom-in-um
Werd... I always say either Hun-Day or Hi-Un-Die. When I'm looking for parts, or on the phone with the 411 operator, I always say hi-un-die. Half the time if I say Hun-Day, I get the wrong effing car. I tried getting the number to my local dealer and I got connected to Honda three times.... THREE! I was like "You're sure this is hyundai, not HONDA, right?" Oh yes, have a good day sir. " squintfinger.gif owned.gif
