How many people live in a dangerous area? Either crime or wild animals or anything else that could be dangerous. Poll added. 0 being not dangerous at all, 10 being war zone! lol
I went with a 2 only because we have a large university within 5 miles of my home. Over 25,000 students, and we're the fastest growing city in the state, so a big influx of people, plus large campus, there's gonna be some crime. But, as far as dangerous, I'd say very low comparable to the rest of the U.S.

My house isn't in that bad of a place. Neighborhood isn't great. Not a lot of crime though. No random wild animals generally in my neighborhood. Only thing venomous are 2 fairly rare spiders. I picked 2. I wasn't sure between 2 and 3.
I live in the middle of NOWHERE. I moved here after my first child was born, where I use to live there were gang fights and a cop was killed across the street. That's fine with me, but I'd rather not have my kids in that area.

I live in Ottawa Canada. I put zero (0). If I wanted to I could leave my front door wide open over night and I promise you nothing would happen. If anything, someone would ring the door bell to let me know it's open! I feel privileged to live where I do!
Eh I'll give Albany a 4 or 5 depends on what part and what street your on. East Albany is a lot worse than West Albany as far as gangs and crime goes.
Now Troy, which is 10mins away, I'll give a 8 or 9, they had the 2nd highest murder rate in the country a few years back and I've believe they've been hanging in the top 10 since.

People get shot and mugged everyday where I live. Actually, I was driving and across the street 7 feds pulled this car over causing traffic and arrested some guy. I checked the news the next day, guy was fleeing his crime scene --murdered a random 81 year-old, and another 40-year old in the back of the head. They discovered he was mental and smuggling drugs.
A bank robber got shot and killed by cops in the bank down the street. A guy took a building hostage and was also shot and killed by police... pretty normal.
It gets much worse in Baltimore.

The house across the street from me was raided one night after a previous renter killed someone during a drug deal gone bad and broke back into that house to hide because it was still vacant and everyone was chasing him.
There where cops everywhere with assault rifles all up and down my street that night until he surrendered.
I felt like I was watching that tv show Cops live.
