Default Horrific Lamborghini Gallardo Crash (w/ Video & Images)

Giorgio Bartocci had an unfortunate accident today, with his number 22 Gallardo LP560-4 encountering a freak accident during round 4 of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Cup. The Gallardo LP560-4 ran into the gravel at the last turn before the final straight, and the impact at between 120-140 km/h sent the car toppling for a good distance. Although the supercar appeared to be shredded and was engulfed in flames soon after, Bartocci survived the accident, and is now reportedly under treatment in the intensive care.

It’s quite concerning to us that the organizers seemed utterly unprepared for the fire. A review of the video right after the jump, shows that the firefighters took a whole minute and fifteen seconds to seemingly get the fire under control. It should hence come as no surprise that the remainder of the event has been cancelled, with rounds six and seven put on hold indefinitely.

Look closely at 0:12 at how the driver is flung out like a rag doll. Seat belt fail. Roll cage fail. holy crap.

This crash wasnt even that fast. Although straight into a concrete barrier. blink.gif

Here is the firecrews response....lame!

MAD props to the two men who used their bare hands to prop open the door to save the driver. And they werent even fire fighters! They had absolutely NO gear to protect themselves. WTF firefighters with their kitchen stove fire extinguishers.

WTF??? Good thing that happened right in front of the pits. It took 1:40 for the (70's era) fire truck to get there.
