Well, this probably more of a guy thing, but whenever I go to restaurants and they are like: "15.45 please" I'm usually lazy and I just give them 20.00. I keep the bills and put the change in a giant jar at home.

Now, I've had this jar at home and I've been using it for two years now. I look at it today, and I'm like.... "Wow, thats a lot of change." I got to pick it up, and it weighs like 40 damn pounds!

So, I go up to my room, and dump it out. I go through the change, and I find out I have $185.00 in friggin quarters! W00T! Thats not even counting the dimes and nickels and pennies! I'm going to go out to my car and scrounge around. I want to go to the bank or CoinStar or someplace with $200.00 in quarters and ask for bills. lol.gif

Just a little thought that maybe you guys should keep a look out on your change. Could buy you some mods. 8O

My bank has a free change counting machine that anybody can use.. Commerce Bank if you are anywhere between NYC and DC.

That said, it is not just a guy thing, my Mom, way back when I was in gradeschool.. paid for a vacation to Disneyland with three years worth of collecting change. I think she had about three grand all saved up.

I usually get about a hundred bucks out of my jar

Hrm, CoinStar sucks... who would pay to get change converted into dollars. No wonder I haven't seen their commercials in a while, they're too poor to afford them. Either that, or the televison channels don't take change as payment for the time block on the commericals. lol.gif

I was really surprised too. I was like.... I might have $50.00 here. Then I started making little dollar stacks of quarters everywhere. So many I couldn't even walk around my room. lol.gif I wonder if I can ship 580 quarters to kSpec for an underdrive pulley. lol.gif

You can always roll them up yourself and take them to the bank. BTW, how long were you saving your change?

I believe I started a year and a half or two ago. I'm not even going to bother with the dimes until I have like three hours of free time. I probably have another $200.00 in change. I'm going to go check my car for change now. laugh.gif

Yeah, that's cool. I hear that the fastest way to add up change is to save your dimes. You don't miss them cause they're small and don't give you that much.
But.....you can also stash a ton of them away in a jar and forget about them. with quarters I can't resist the urge to spend them. It only takes 4 to make a dollar! Whereas dimes take 10 and 6 peices of change to make a dollar is my limit.
