History question - Jewish topic
If Israel was established as a response to antisemitism in Europe, why was Palestine chosen as a thing to be given to Jews when immediately they were attacked by five (Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria) surrounding Arab nations?
What I'm struggling to understand is that if Jews came from Europe, why they would need to be relocated out of Europe entirely?
I'm struggling to understand how this solution even correlates to the problem. Was antisemitism so bad in Europe that Jews simply could not live there anymore? They had existed in Europe for so many years and suddenly could not anymore?
