Default Hiring up, Unemployment holds steady

So if unemployment isn’t changing, that means with every new hired worker, theres someone who has been fired or laid off, right? Doesn’t sound like anything great to me.

The books are cooked, the numbers are fake. /thread

These numbers can't be directly compared. They use different data sets, and the data are collected in sub-optimal ways.

There is a huge leftist in charge of the department of labor. Huge leftists have no problem cooking books "For the Cause" and they can even make it sound like it's not gobbledegook, but it is. I can maybe buy the unemployment rate holding steady but it's holding steady at deep recession/depression levels. The economy, it sucks worse than advertised. If they say it's about holding steady these days, take it to mean things are going downhill less worse than before, but still not quite holding steady.

edit: economic news: get it here: http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogsp...mployment.html

thats what i always say about any statistics stocker, same deal here really.

anyone who has taken even a basic statistics course has learned one ting: you can make the numbers say whatever you want.

the example i give people is this:

true statistic: 95% of the population is flaming homosexual. (no offense to anyone that is)

we all know this isn't true, but it IS a true statistic. i would simply have to have done my survey in a gay bar and the only straight one there would be the bartender.

The statistics say 93.7% of bartenders are eunuchs. Tragic accidents involving broken bottles are apparently pretty common in the "Fancy Bottle Work 101" lab. Who knew?

In related news, isn't it amazing how cars magically started being more efficient all over the country at the same time as the Great Recession (the ongoing depression) started?

Conservatives do the same sh*t... Just sayin'.

BTW, it doesn't matter who's in charge of the labor department. What matters is who's writing the headline. Give the same stats to CNN and FOX and you'll get two completely opposing stories.
