Actually Hip Hop encompasses a whole diverse music genre that includes rap.

Hip Hop is to Rap as Rock is to Heavy Metal

redz thats probably the single most ignorant thing i've ever heard you say.

its clear that you dont have a good grasp on musical styles. because you have something more intellegent to say then "bla bla bla put some d's on it, bla bla bla thug life." dosent make you soft at all.

infact those who talk alot of bullshit usually are the softest of them all. for example people like 50 cent or tupac (who for the record was a ballerina for the begingings of his career.) who just say any thing that will sell record to the masses.

rapping is just saying shit that rhymes good together
hip-hop is an entire culture that includes MCing, breakin, graph,DJing, and survival all together.

rap is something that evolved from hip-hop much like grunge evolved from 80's rock (which was heavy metal)
but all of this is OT because the point of the thread is to share music not to sit around trying to flame things we dont care for.

I've got a great grasp on musical styles, I just know that Hiphop sucks my arsehole.

And trust me, I've said much dumber things in my life, and even here on these forums.

Hiphop just takes a old line from a song by Sting, The Police, Phil Collins, or someone else, puts a beat from some 80's disco song to it, ads too much bass, then has someone rhyme about stuff no one cares about.

When you get a bit older, you'll find that lyrics are gay, and move on to other music.

Or you'll keep listening to Hip Hop, and wear your pants around your knees.

Whatever floats your boat.

What type of music is "breaking"? Describe it? I'm learning to break dance, but it can be done to just about any hard and up-beat hip-hop.

breaking is break dancing......just another way that hip-hop manifests itself cool.gif you should post some vids of you breakin. i know i would like to see maybe some others would too

here some more music before i go out for a beer
El Gant - 'So Simple'

Visionaries - 'All Right'

also maybe the reason people take samples from good 80's and 70's music, is because its actually good music that deserves some homage to be payed to it.

I think my Zune is about 50% rap and hip hop, but I liek almost all types of music, I dont care for country. Honestly depending on the speakers you have I like different stuff more. What i just stopped listening to before I got on here just now was Too Short (really good beat) and ying-yang twins.
I like almost every type of music, but I do not like every song of every type.
