Boxee is designed to be a social networking service. It's good for what it does.

New version of my program was released tonight. It was renamed because the old project was deleted from sourceforge because the name BashSExx had the word sexx in it.

The new version will work with iTivo, and MythTV to rename episodes and movies. It's called mythicalLibrarian

You know, I've got a couple of spare PC's now, since all I use is my new lappy...

I may need some step by step walking through though mang...

yeah, i can get you the ultimate setup if you buy a tv converter card and a remote. one computer handles all the recordings for the network, the other is the front end that hooks up to the TV and is controlled by a remote, both will run on free linux.

xbmc is sweet, but until it has built in provisions for tv tuning it will be no match for windows media center.

wmc in windows 7 plus media browser is perfect.

lol, it does.

The new version of XBMC live comes with not only built-in hdhomerun support, it comes with a back-end TV server. I havn't used it yet because my back-end is on a different computer. However, I'm looking to hook up on side of my hdhomerun to the backend and one side to the front end.

alright, that's cool. but they need to make it available for more than just the hdhomerun. i have an awesome avermedia dual tuner that picks up hd that i don't think would work.

i'm all for open source, but they have a lot of catching up to do in the media computer department.

no, you can run mythtv backend with xbmc, or you can run other programs. The project right now is a unified pvr front-end.
