I'd like to recommend the Fuji Finepix F700. Check it out on the review site listed above, but it's a 6.2 megapixel camera that takes 640x480 video with sound (TV resolution) for as long as you have memory. I have a 256mb card and can get over 4 minutes of video off of it. You can find it for about $270 here at Bizrate.com.

I love the pics from it, and it's VERY close to film quality. You may ask yourself if you need that high of a resolution, but when you use it, you'll never go back to anything less.

Plus, it has great battery life, and a rugged metal chassis. It can take RAW format pics for really, really detailed images (as well as the typical JPG files).

FujiFilm Finepix S3100 is an excellent camera, I have had for about a year and a half takes good video and great pix at only 4MP. Has manual modes, night modes and you can even get a wide angle convertor lense and a Tele convertor lense if you wanted them and it retails for only $269.99 at crutchfield.

Excellent Camera, Good Buy for the money.

I'll check into those Fuji's.

I went into Best Buy to look at the Canon's last night. They told me that none of the Canon's out now will take longer than a 30 sec movie.

Thats not true - they may record at 30 frames per second, but they can certainly record longer than that. How much video you can record depends upon the quality of the video and sometimes the size of your memory card.

The a70-A95 series can record up to 3 minutes of video with sound, depending on quality.

Take the 3.2 MP Canon S1 IS for example. It records EXCELLENT quality video with sound and 10x zoom for as long as you'd like. With a 1gb memory card, you could capture quite a bit of video.

This camera goes for about $350 though.
