Default Hello everyone

Just happened across your board today and wanted to say hi.

You have a very cool board and a lot of good information here.

Honestly, I never even knew their was an aftermarket for Hyundai. I haven't driven a Hyundai since I test drove a Sonata V6 back when they first came out. I liked it quite a bit.

How is the build quality and dependability of the Hyundai's now days? I know they used to get a bad rap, but I would think with a 100,000 mile standard warranty they must be very good now.

Anywho, just wanted to say you all had a good board here, and give you all props for modding your cars. I am a fan of all cars. (well, not minivans grrrrrrrrrrr)

Keep the mods coming.

Welcome to the board. As for your question regarding Hyundai's quality and dependability...I've only had my Tib since November, but so far I haven't had any problems at all, nothing! smile.gif The car also seems to be very well put together. Very tight construction.
I actually researched info about Tibs for about a year before I bought mine, and the more I learned, the more I liked, so I bought one. I was impressed by the quality of cars that Hyundai is producing these days and I wouldn't be surprised if Hyundai's prices start climbing up a bit to match the quality of their products. (Though I loved getting this car for the price that I paid!) It seems that Hyundai is really putting a lot of effort into what they produce...everything from design and construction quality to power, standard features, warranty, etc. They are giving folks a lot for their money.

I agree with Sylvyr. I had mine since the beginning of Oct. No probs yet *knocks on wood*. I have put alot of miles on my since I have had it (almost 14,000 in 7mos). Alot of which were put on going to Jax. I drive my car har every day and so far it has put up to the beating I have given it.
You seem like a cool guy (even though you don't have a Hyundai yet. hehe lol) so if you are ever in Sav drop me line.
It is nice to see a TA owner that there are other cars beside American. Major props to you.

Whats up jax!
I must have been one of the lucky ones in the old days because I owned a 91 Hyundai and drove that thing for 130,000 miles with no problems, I then traded it for a Scoupe in
1994, at that time Rod Millen Motorsports was selling aftermarket parts for Scoupes. I thought my Scoupe was pretty phat till I test drove a Tiburon in febuary of 1997. My Tiburon has about 150.000 miles on it and still looks new!!!! By the way, I work for Saturn so I can answer any questions about your wifes car if you have troubles.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.

Sounds like a lot of good experiences from Hyundai. Glad to hear that.

Autobot, you come to Jax pretty often?

Shirell, thanks for the offer. We have a wopping 28,000 miles on it. When under warranty, we had to have the water pump, alternator, plugs, wires, and ignition module replaced at about 20,000. Since then, I have replaced another alternator. I guess I can testify that the alternators DO suck! Other than that it's been a good car.
