Have you ever lied on a job application?
I read a news article the other day that said 82% of people who apply for jobs have lied on their applications at least once in their life. It makes me wonder how many people lie on their resume too.

The Police Department has a spot for "Race" on their application and I filled it out honestly: Human. The recruiter was not amused.

I'm a motivated, adaptable and responsible student seeking a position which will utilise the organisational and communication skills developed through my previous employment and cadet training.
While studying my degree I have successfully combined my studies with work and other commitments; showing myself to be self-motivated, organised and capable of working under pressure. I have a clear, logical mind with a practical approach to problem solving and a drive to see things through to completion. I enjoy working on my own initiative or in a team. In short, I am reliable, trustworthy, hardworking and eager to join an organisation that can fully utilise my skills.
Nothing could be further from the truth!

I've known companies to fire people immediately after they've started when someone's identified a lie on a resume. One was a question of if they had ever worked for that company before. WHY would you say No when you had? They gon' find out!

My current job made me take a test asking about weather I've ever stole or "borrowed without permission" from a company I worked for. I may have fibbed a little.

When I got this job I was on probation.
No?
Funny part is, and I still have yet to understand how, my background check came back clean

How far back am I supposed to go on that one? I don't want to get philosophical on an application sheet but of course every human has stolen something at least once in their life.
