Has anyone ever been to Hawaii?
Looking into trips Sept/Oct time for my girl and as we have never been there. Whats it like, hows the food, anything to really do other than lay on the beach all day? Thanks

Been there a few times. You can do alot of hiking, take helicopter rides, do tours, learn to surf or do other water sports, and so on. Its just like any other type of vacation really. It is a little expensive in some areas, and the food is really amazing. Lots of great seafood obviously. Are you staying at a resort or some other hotel?

And don't forget to go snorkeling! It's more fun than it sounds.
Activities will vary greatly depending on what island(s) you stay on. I was on Oahu, and it's a very urbanized island but you can still find some jungle if you look hard enough or go to a park. Tons of night life in Waikiki, you can go to Pearl Harbor which is pretty powerful.
