Okay, both of my 360's have the Halo 3 Beta on it, and I played about 10 rounds this morning and about 4 last night.
Who else here is in?
BTW, if you have ANY questions about the game, feel free to ask.
First impressions from last night? 8 out of 10. Reasons? Very similar to Halo 2, and WAY too many weapons now.
Second impression after several games today? 9.5 out of 10. Reasons? WAY TOO MANY WEAPONS, makes for a VERY varied experience. The maps are just plain awesome, nooks, crannies, plenty of sniping spots, and plenty of vehicles. Sniping isn't as easy as it was in Halo 1 and 2, therefore not as cheap now.
WHat else can I tell you?
New Weapons.
Brute Spiker (Alien version of the SMG, pretty nice as a dual wield)
Spartan Laser (Practically a one shot kill, but takes 3 seconds to fire)
Spike Grenade (sticks to walls and people too)
BTW, you can hold 6 grenades now, 2 of each type.
New Gadgets
Trip Mine (Blow up a warthog/atv/enemy)
Bubble Shield (I friggin LOVE this thing)
Portable Gravity Jump (Mini man cannon)
I really like the new VIP game too, very fun.
Anyways, let the questions begin.

Sniping in Halo 1 was hard as hell..Halo 2 sniping is just a joke. I hope they brought back the H1 snipe, it took much more skill.
Did the weapon sets get gayer? I know the later part of Halo 2 turned out with newbs ruling the levels because of maps like Turf, Elongation, and Gemini where dual wields > BR. I hope they put some more skill into the SMG, it's way too powerful in H2.

BTW, my gamertag is still xCoNx REDZMAN
TO answer the questions, sniping is much harder now, a nice blend of Halo 1 and 2, you can't shoot as fast with the sniper anymore either.
The SMG is a bit weaker, and the dual SMG will take someone down pretty quick still, but the shots are much more scattered, so you need to be close.
The Plasma / Battle rifle NEWB COMBO still works, but nowhere near as well. The tracking on the plasma ball is WAY down, and it takes slightly longer to swap weapons after you overheat the pistol. The ULTRA NOOB COMBO is still alive and kicking though, my personal favorite (plasma charge followed by a Melee).
LOL
I DO like that the battle rifle is not as effective anymore, but I wish the standard assault rifle had more rounds.
OH! The shotgun is BACK BTW, one shot to the head, and dead, like Halo 1, but the single shot + melee to the body will still take em down in one go, like Halo 2.

Added the Power Drainer above, forgot all about it. Also, let it be known that the Assault Rifle from Halo 1 is back, but with half the ammo, it's the standard starting weapon.

Which one do you think will be better. Gears or Halo 3?
Not really a fair question, they aren't even the same type of game at all.
Halo 3 = FPS, Mostly Bloodless, twitch style gaming.
Gears of War = TPS, VERY BLOODY, very frenetic action.
Honestly though? Gears is the better game right now, just so much more realistic, if you can believe it, and so much more gritty.
Halo 3 will be the game you still play the most though, as I can guess, but it looks like everyone is pretty friggin happy with it so far.
