Why is it that the SE V6 is more expensive than the GT V6??? i was just wondering, if both have the same 172HP (according to intellichoice.com)...
And why the 2003 GT V6 have 180HP and earlier versions of the GT V6 have 172HP...again i was just wondering if you guys know the answer... hail.gif

the SAE changed how they rate horsepower. Before you could just run the engine, no alternator, no waterpump.. nothing to drain power. Now the engine has to be as it will be in the car.. so ALL cars that have been retested under the new rules have a lower rating... but it is also more realistic

let's see, you add the kenwood mp3 audio system, the triple gauge pod in the dash, custom pin strip, chrome trim ring around the gauges. the leather shifter and e-brake knobs. not sure if that's all right but, i looked a one last weekend and that'a what i remember. sticker was like $21,200.

The big difference with the SE in '05 and '06 is that it's the only way to get the 6-speed tranny (and the high spoiler). GT's are only 5-speed.
I had the 5-speed and while it was a short shift and very comfortable, the gearing on the 6-speed makes me wish I would have gotten that. As far as performance goes, it's pretty much the same with the 6-speed maybe being a hair quicker (n/a).

SE also has less gas mileage 18 city vs 19 for the GT. A small difference, due mainly to the different gearing.
Personally, I wouldn't touch the Delta If Toyota can manufacture a 3.5 V6 powerplant that is 800cc larger, yet capable of 4 cylinder EPA ratings, 22/31 then Hyundai need more of a R&D focus on their engine design.
