Hey everyone,
For those who have seen my original topic in the classifieds section of the forums (located here: http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtopic=34873), I was looking to buy a new rear suspension crossmember for my car, since mine had a hole rusted through.
ANYWAY, I had contacted customer relations at Hyundai of Canada to see if they would replace it under a warranty claim. After some mildly exaggerated fear for my safety and mentioning that I was going to ask the Ministry of Transportation if they had heard of any similar issues with this type of vehicle, Hyundai finally got back to me and told me to bring my car in to a dealership to be inspected and for them to make a claim. Sure enough, the claim went through and I'm getting a brand new rear suspension crossmember FREE-OF-CHARGE. The labour is separate, but thankfully I have my father to do that.
Overall, I basically saved over $500 on the part alone. I posted this in case anybody else encounters a similar problem and perhaps they can try the same thing I did.
