GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Company (GM Daewoo) was publicly launched today following the successful completion of asset title registration and a final equity capital injection by the investors in the new company. The move is on the heels of the completion of the asset transfer on October 17, Foundation Day for the new company.
In a press interview, the GM Daewoo president David Nicholas Reilly revealed plans and visions for the new company. Reilly talked about the upcoming specification changes for existing models: Matiz II, Kalos, Rezzo, Magnus and also outlined launching a new model. In addition the Mr Reilly detailed a new customer care plan which will be followed by the SATURN's service style.
The previous Daewoo Motors is now separated into five companies: GM Daewoo, Incheon Daewoo Car Factory, Pusan Daewoo Bus, Koonsan Daewoo Commercials, and the rest. Headquarters of GM Daewoo will be located in Incheon and will be supplied the cars, engines, transmissions and parts from the Incheon Daewoo Car Factory. GM may merge the Incheon factory later on, if the factory satisfies GM's standards.
To expand in the international market, GM Daewoo will produce the cars with GM equipment in India, China, and Thailand. Holden Motors in Australia wants to utilize GM Motors, and the factory in Vietnam will also produce the GM Daewoo Cars. GM Daewoo has a product system in six countries in total.

I'm sure we in Jamaica have little if anything to worry about, as we have never been truly affected.
