So.. This weekend I was at my lake house, and my neighbor heard all about me modding my RD. She drives an 04 GK so she's into tibbys. This GK she has is a V6 6 speed as well. Naturally I ask to drive it (first ride in a GK let alone driving). I drove to town and back (about a 10 mile round trip). Of course I went through the gears, and let me tell you... Quick... I know you guys hate GK's because of their pregnant nature and general over-abundance, but man, that thing is quite a bit quicker than my RD1. Her's is completely stock, and mine has AEM CAI, 1.8 cam, 1.8 ECU, ARK sts, and all new filters to boot. It shifted like a dream too, where as my RD is more of a jerky type. I can understand why you don't like them, but at the same time I can't... I was rather impressed from how you guys bash them. The V6 could have a lot more potential form the factory, but it's still fast....

I think alot of hate about them is the extra 700 lbs. with the same engine when they introduces the '03 with the beta2 powerplant.

I personally like them, but when they have the lower wing on them, not the one your friend has.

If you think thats fast you need to get out and test drive different cars man.

A gk runs stock mid 15's...

What is your point of view of the word "fast"? Is it responding quicker? I would guess so since its a V6 compared to our 4 banger or fast as in giong over the speed limit and hitting 100mph?

What do you mean by fast? nana.gif

I never bashed a GK. I drove one of the new ones and was very impressed. This IS RDTibuorn though, not GKTibuorn. No reason to bash a GK, but no point in talking them up on this site either.

Then you know wrong. We, most of us, hate the GK because it's HEAVY, and the V6 sucks ass. The 6th speed everyone goes gaga for is useless for anything else than cruising, and the interior is just PLAIN compared to the RD's. The seats are loose and don't hold you like the RD seats do, it just feels like any other sedan.

No offense, but you don't have much done to your car either. While the intake stuff is NICE, I was SHOCKED at how much the exhaust has changed the way my car drives. Get your headers/exhaust done, you'll never look at another GK.

Folks bash the V6 GK here because the V6 plainly sucks. There are some nice SC options now, but other than that, you get to do the exact same modifications as everyone else. Most people here bash GK OWNERS more than the car though, as most of them act superior because they have a newer car and V6.

Learn your Tiburon History.

Then come here damnit! The both of ya's!! REDZ, that's what I meant by "pregnant nature" when you get pregnant, you get fat and heavy. The interior could be a bit more extravagant, but it is a cheaper new car... What I meant by faster was the acceleration eats my RD1. I know I don't have much done to mine, but enough to notice a pretty large difference than stock. One of my friends said after driving my car it was better/quicker than the GK 6 speed. I know the 6 speed doesnt add like 235789327897 horse, I just kind of like the idea of it. 6 is just a cruising gear, but I dunno, six speed just tickles me... lmao I might buy her GK at the end of the year, for me and my dad to share. I WILL keep my RD definitely, it's only a maybe as of right now, but we've known her for as long as I've been born, so we will get a really good price on it. In general owners are arrogant assholes, yes, but she is a mid 30's female who just had a child. So the thing hasn't been driven hard at all, she just wanted a sporty little ride. I really wish they didn't have to be so effing heavy, and they could have made them a LOT more powerful, but whatever... Just thought I'd say I drove one and I was impressed. The acceleration is better, shifting is smoother and the infinity sounds are nice =). Not to say anything you have isn't better, I'm saying my RD1 as of now.
