Game Consoles - Teach Me
watch yourselves with the 360 though. I recently gave mine to my brother because i did not have time to play it and when i went home for the first time in about 3 months i tried to turn it on and it came up with an error. SYSTEM FAILURE and the lights around the power button were flashing red. I thought to myself "three flashing red lights... WTF" so i went online looking for a cure to my problem. THEY HAVE A DIRECT LINK TO THIS PROBLEM... thats how bad it is. I called customer service and they told me to do a few things and it was a no go. I had to shell out 130 bucks for an extended warranty and i shipped it off to them for repairs. Mind you... i will stick by the 360 because it is an awesome game system and who doesnt like HALO... haha. But... if you own an older version of the 360... i.e. last years model... watch out. You may get the three flashing red lights bug and boom... you are out of 130 bucks.
I dont know if this will help your decision at all and i am not trying to persuade you in either direction... but if you buy a 360... buy a new one. And get the extended warranty.... its worth it.

Call Microsoft and ask for you $130 back.

On July 5, Microsoft identified a specific problem that had come to be commonly known among gamers as the "Red Ring of Death" -- a hardware failure marked by the flashing of three red lights on an Xbox.
Microsoft said July 5 that it will take a charge of up to $1.15 billion to its fourth-quarter earnings to address what it called an "unacceptable" number of Xbox repairs.
MSFT said that it will reimburse Xbox customers who have paid for repairs resulting from the failure, and the company expanded its warranty program for machines experiencing the failure from one year to three years.
Along with news of the technical failure, Microsoft also announced that it came in shy of prior estimates of Xbox sales, with 11.6 million sold by the end of June. The company said in January that it expected to sell 12 million consoles by the end of June.

straight up own both and i can tell you that u would be much happier with the 360. ps3 games graphics are sick but the console lacks games bbiigg time. the 360 games graphics arent equally as good but close and even though with the 360 u have to pay to play online it is definitly worth it.
microsoft won the console war this time

PS3 and 360 are both great systems with good graphics.
You need to figure this one out for yourself -- look at the games available for the systems, don't compare the systems themselves.
Are you an FPS guy? Halo 3 is going to be AWESOME, I've played the beta online.
Or are you an RPG guy? The new Metal Gear Solid is going to be pretty cool too.
Or do you like sports games? Find out which system has the most sport games available, I've heard that the new Madden for 360 is pretty tight, and lots of new features in it.
The Wii is a damn cool system. I don't care what anyone says. The reason it's so fun is because it's EASY to learn and pick up. You'll be surprised how many people hate video games, but love the Wii. I've seen 60 year old guys golfing on the Wii in the stores. I've played Wii Tennis with my mom! The Wii does not appeal to the hardcore gamer, only the casual, who likes to just have some fun once in awhile. The only thing that would make the Wii cooler is if it could go online.
On the other hand, most of the games for Wii are childish. Wii Sports and any other sports games (my roommate has a Wii with Tiger Woods 07, its a lot fun) are pretty much the only thing it is good for. The Wii Play game is pretty fun also, they have a newer version of Duck Hunt, a billiards game, bunch of other games on that disc. The Wii remotes is what makes it so fun to play.
Anyway, like I said, look at the games, not the systems.
