it allows it to fart easier ya mean..lol

anyway yeah, there are two jobs of an exhaust. getting the gasses out fast, and getting a lot of the gasses out at once. if you have diameter exhaust, you will get a lot out at once, but you wont be getting them out fast. if you have a small diameter exhaust, you will get them out fast, but you wont be getting muh out. 2.5 or 2.25 is what you want, its a compromise of both.

2.25 to 2.5, that's right, I forgot.

As for what muffler, look in the For Sale section, there's a few there.

If you're gonna get a custom job, ask the guys at muffler shop what type of pipe they will use and how long they expect it to last. They'll probably use an aluminum alloy which means that it will eventually rust. A benifit of this is that it will be lighter than the stock pipe. My custom exhaust is three years old with very little rust but I've seen others start to rust after a year or so. Something to keep in mind.

Good point Cyber, again brother, I want to emphasize, this is a short term solution, unless you tell them you want higher quality work, then it'll cost more too.

well... see im thinking more long term, like an actual replacement cat-back exhaust... maybe i should just wait and invest in an actual cat-back exhaust... i still dunno man. my muffler has a nice loud rattle in it now and i really need to fix it.

It only cost me $100 to get 2.5 inch aluminized steel piping run from the second cat to the muffler. It cost $20 for this perforated core glasspack
Thrush glasspack
and you can get a 2.5 inch muffler off of e-bay or anywhere else for that matter.
