The pastor of a Florida church planning to burn Qurans told CNN Tuesday while the congregation plans to go through with the action to protest the September 11, 2001 attack on the United States by al Qaeda, the church is "weighing" its intentions.
Terry Jones, pastor of Dove World Outreach Church in Gainesville, Florida, who was interviewed on CNN's "American Morning, said the congregation is taking seriously the warning from the U.S. military that the act could cause problems for American troops.
"We have firmly made up our mind, but at the same time, we are definitely praying about it," said Jones said.
"We are definitely weighing the situation. We are weighing the thing that we're about to do. What it possibly could cause. What is our actual message. What are we trying to get across."
The planned action has drawn sharp criticism from Muslims around the world and U.S. officials.

^ . . . who believe in _________(name one sacred text)
The fun part is, nobody is reporting what the "message" is that they are trying to send by burning a book.
Yes you have the right
No you probably shouldn't
Most people think you are dumb
Except the ones who already were wanting to kill you
This burning will change, and prove, nothing.

This just seems so backwards:
Muslims want to build a mosque right next to ground zero - OK!
American wants to burn a koran - BAD!
??????
Are we trying to appease these people? Why are we bowing to the demonstrations going on overseas? Just look for example what the 'peaceful' muslims are doing in Europe already! They aren't the radical kind at all, yet they're tearing those countries apart. And now that it's coming to the US, we're opening them with open arms.
When will we ever see that the majority of muslims (the so-called 'peaceful muslims') have just as radical and even more destructive goal than the fanatics?? The fanatcis want to blow us up one by one right now - uncool. The peaceful muslims want to replace our entire way of living with their own by infiltrating and slowing taking over our country - seriously uncool!

Things are only worth the value you put into them. If I printed a copy of the Quaran and the Bible on my printer, then shuffled the two like playing cards and burned them, would it matter? Who cares what some church wants to do?
I'ma print up an American and Iraqie flag while I'm at it.

there is sometimes i wish we could just pull the plug on technology. 20 years ago before the internet and texting...etc.... we would never hear about these things cause no one really cared.

QFT?
DTN reminded me: a Boortz caller asked if a muslim would have to kill himself if he downloaded a koran to his kindle and then the batteries ran out. Another said they shouldn't burn the books b/c it's wasteful - better to reuse the material by ripping out the pages and putting it in rest stops for toilet paper. It is reported that people are mailing him korans to burn laugh.gif
This is only 'a story' because it's sensational. The press people figure everyone will have an opinion and there will be no shortage of outrage, which generates ratings and newsstand sales. Look for there to be more reporters than church members in attendance this Saturday.
