Flash Riots
Ever heard of one? My friend told me about them about a month ago as a joke and I didn't think people actually planned them and carried them out. Well, two nights ago I saw one at like 3:40 in the morning and ironically it was in the parking lot where are first NW RDTuner's meet of the year is being held. Just found it interesting that they chose the spot we chose for our meet. Anyways, those who don't know what flash riots are are probably confused reading this so I'll explain (I guess they're pretty popular around here), they're pretty stupid but really funny at the same time:
Basically thousands of people get together (like on a locally based forum or chatroom) and plan to meet at one specific spot in the middle of the night for like 5 minutes and.....seriously....just make noise! (yeah, that's it...THAT is a flash riot). It's pretty funny if you imagine seeing it:
Your cruising home at 3:43am down a deserted road and you hear a distant noise. You get closer and see 2,000 people and their cars parked in a parking lot just screaming, lighting off fireworks, honking, blasting music and just plain making noise. You stop to see what the fuss is about and 5 minutes later all 2000 people (at the same time) run like a bat outta hell and everybody's gone within a minute.....and it's like nothing ever happened.
Well, that's what i saw (except it was more like 500-600 people) at the Fry's parking lot in dowtown Renton where I live and thought I'd share my experience. Looking back, at least I knew what it was before seeing one (because my friend had explained it to me a while back)...I'm just wondering what I would've done if I didn't know WTF was going on...haha! oh man...
The things people do that late at night....lol.Just imagine the planning it took and for what? It was a pretty funny sight though, kinda scary....

Have you ever heard of anything like this? My friend told me about it and I was crackin up...I didn't think people actually went through with it. I guess it happens quite often around here in the South King County Area (if any of you Washingtonians are reading this...)
