Those are nice cars. I had the chance to buy one quite a few years back, but I bought the Tiburon instead. wink1.gif
It wasn't near as nice as that one though...

The heavy duty bumpers puts it at 75 or newer. The slender taillights, side markers inset into the body put it at 75 to 78. The steel rims puts it 75, 76, or 77. The way the headlights are trimmed neatly in the chrome bezels puts it 75 or 76... I am going to say 76.

Things to note.. it still has it's original hood. Many spiders have later model hoods (which have MUCH larger bulges to clear fuel injection.) If you look closely, you can see why. The big bumpers do a decent job of protecting the body, but the front edge of the hood hangs over the bumper slightly, one small "bump" and it is dented badly.

1975

good job though. the customer told me you'd figure it out primarily cuz of the front bumper fing02.gif

nah, 75 through 78 fiat spiders all look alike when stock. Only the earlier ones had the steel pressed wheels though.

It is the little things that you have to look for. The pre78 spiders have a real wood dash too, later use a laminate. They also lose the oil pressure gage.

Seems in the late 70s, people were still used to american cars that always show good pressure even when idling. Fiat's tend to idle around 10psi.. many a spider went back to the dealer to get that "fixed" when there was nothing wrong.. that was what the car was designed to idle at.

The ultimate fix: stop supplying an oil pressure gage

So, what was it in for anyway?

2.0 Integrale engine.. I know of an Integrale with 800hp... combine that with AWD and you do not get the mad wheelspin that X gets.

Thing about the X.. it was truely the first affordible Mid engined sports car. Consider the MR2 it's spiritual descendant.. but also consider that the X can outhandle even a modified MR2 easily with only a set of springs, shocks, and swaybars..
