Fed Up Station Owner Shuts Off Pumps
CNN story of a guy shutting off his pumps to protest rising fuel prices
I think would work if it caught on... question is will it?
Where I'm at right now its like $.09 a gallon for fuel so why is it so expensive in the states? I know why because people will pay it.

I think it will be hard to convince a substantial portion of the gasoline-selling community to stop making money for a while, but it would work. no doubt.
its not .09 in in iraq. Its a few bucks high for being a oil state. The gas prices are high because of demand. and refiners(sp) were shutting down and breaking. They are now coming back online and price will come down. Lets remeber that will still pay less then UK and most of euro does. If you want a quick fix call your state gov and tell them they should wave the gas tax.

Nothing cost $3 in iraq. A pack of cigarettes from hajii selling stuff at a bazaar table costs $0.50, and they jack up the prices for Americans because they know we can pay it.

Down here in McAllen the gas price went up to $3.09 a gallon for the Regular, but that was only a few days, now is coming down and I can see few stations at $2.89 - $2.99
I have a lot of respect for people who stand up for what they think is right. the one thing that pisses me off though is when people think it won't make a difference...that may be true, but if you always think that you won't make a difference you never will. people who stand up and at least try have a much higher success rate at making change than people who don't think it matters.

bring some home with you please. smile.gif
actually, I found a cheap alternative. I got a crapload of octane booster (it was on sale at costco, like 0.75 cents a bottle after how many I bought, ..like a pallet) and I just buy 87 and put in the octance booster when I fill up! ha

yeah, the gas prices are getting insane.. my van only gets like 19.5 mpg city, so that blows..
and then the tib gets like 27mpg city, but takes 93 octane. so yeah, im screwed either way.
gas right now for 87 octane is like 2.49
