Spoiled kid had a supercharged mach 1 til he wrapped it around a pole driving drunk
My Monte Carlo held it's own against most of the cars there, I refused to bring it to school though
High school kids are jackasses

Everyone in my HS drove junk, me included (86 Chevette FTMFW!). We had a teacher with a 86 Camaro Berlinetta. 350 V8, I still remember the rumble that car would make..... I'm pretty sure it was just a leaky exhaust though.
If any student had a nice car, it belonged to Mom and Dad.

There was a kid who drove a turboed NSX, I never saw him race it but he did show up to a lot of events.
There were a bunch of other pretty quick cars: couple of FCs and one FD, the 911 doesn't count because technically it was his dad's car (he drove an older 3 series), a couple of SR swapped 240s and one RB25 swapped (long before that was popular), sh*t loads of bone stock 3rd gen (pre NE) stangs but those were slow as balls, one Pulsar GTI-R and an R32 GT-E but that was also slow as piss.
I drove:

It had a 350 and sh*t tons of mods, but was auto. Enough to take down any civic at the time but a far cry from fattest.
The most popular car by far? the EK and EJ civics which were new at the time.

Mine wasn't the fastest, but was certainly the loudest, and still in the top 3 fastest vehicles.
1978 Chevy Blazer which came with a 327 out of a '67 Vette and almost $10k in receipts from the engine build (in 1997 that went a lot farther than it does today). Was said to be at about 475hp, which I wholeheartedly believe.
Like this, but flat blue:

The fastest was my friend's '78 Monte Carlo. It was running a Buick 455 and dual 4bbl carbs through a snorkel. It had some fiberglass body parts, and some acid dipped body panels.
Mostly looked like this, only with removed trim and emblems:

This was sticking through its hood:

Damn! My high school sucked...
I remember a few quick fox body stangs and a camaro or two. I held my own in my 84 300zx

N/A 5 speed 6 cyl, not a bad little car till I drove it into a lake.

Heh, my beta LC was the fastest car there, not even exaggerating. Mommy and daddy bought all the rich asian kids NA skylines, while all the tough bogan kids drove/still drive V6 commodores.

Buick GS400 - Physics teacher drove it. Left 2 very nice burnout marks in the bus lane when we were working on acceleration and momentum labs.
