Hey guys,
I was curious about this phenomenon, both from the theological side and from the scientific community.
Has anyone ever witnessed an exorcism taking place? What happened and what did you observe? Do you know anyone that has gone through an exorcism? What does your faith say regarding possession? What conditions need to be met before your religion, takes on an exorcism?
Are there any documented/researched cases on exorcism or possession?
A friend of mine was telling me that in Islam, entities called jinn existed with humans. Jinns are powerful creatures and are banned from involving themselves with humans. however not all listen.
He said that before an exorcism in Islam takes place, several criteria have to be met.
1. Medical causation must be ruled out by a practicing psychiatrist and/or psychotherapy and/or medication has failed
2. Speaking in tongues not ever previously learned or heard fluently
3. Contortion of the body in shapes that the average person cannot do
4. Presents of scars marking the individual did not have before
5. ability to make items move or display supernatural phenomenon
Finally has anyone seen a possessed person do any of the above. I believe Catholics also have criteria for this too, and some of the stuff is the same as above.
