oh this is shocking. the tiburon was originally supposed to be a cheaper better car for the younger public so they could afford it which would prove to be good quality and attractive sporty car.
having loved that theory and having loved feasting my eyes on the everlasting 1997 generation, i was part of that younger generation who wanted to afford one. the formula 2 world rally championship car was only front wheel drive and it was the sexiest rally car to this day.
now, this article goes against all odds. what i don't understand is that in 2003 hyundai said they were supposed to build an actual sports car available for the public based on something of a Sonata Coupe and it was supposed to be rear wheel drive. the car is totally rearranged and prices will soar. it will be a pricey car.
rear wheel drive... snow? anybody? they should have just made another car that was similar to a honda s2000--much like the preludes are to s2000's.
i really don't get it. the 2007 generation is the one i have my eye out don't get me wrong. i will be finishing my studies and ready to get my new life along with a new car. and what better to have your favorite sports car turned into an actual sports car. people will really look up to hyundai and trust them a lot more. more aftermarket parts will be available. it will be awsome punishing other cars with a tiburon badge. other car owners wil be sooo jealous! i'm loving it. girls will love ya. i know it's time to move on past the old days, but i bet the prices are going to increase as well.
i was thinking how bad rear wheel drive will sound, but if they're going to make it an actual sports car than the prices better stay close to the original!!
it will also increase new buyers. and as we all know, once a hyundai, always a hyundai. they said 72% of buyers buy another hyundai. owner loyalty. i'm happy to see that hyundai are not sell outs and they want to spend the money they earned on innovations.
RWD though... doesn't sound like it's going to be very economic. and it might not be good in weather.

Rear wheel drive is awesome! It's the only way to go if you want the best handling car (short of AWD, maybe). It can be a handful in the snow but not bad. I used to have a 5.0 litre Mustang and survived in the Canadian winters, no problem. You just need a good set of snow tires.

, wow, i personally really really didn't expect that!!! wow, wonder what the cost will be, wonder if they will come up with a new fwd car to replace the tib's current position in their lineup...wow...this is definently a big deal for hyundai.
thats too far away... i have my eyes set on buying a new car real soon. 2008 for this model's release? i can't wait that long..

I guess my next car won't be a Hyundai. And I was really looking forward to the next generation too. Driving backwards uphill for a quarter mile in the winter to get out of my neighborhood isn't my idea of fun. And snow tires don't do crap unless you live in a flat area.

fonseca, that'll impose on better care of the car by not taking it out in the snow wink1.gif lol and who knows, maybe we can meet some hot willingful chicks who notice there's a sexy car stuck out side with a single guy needing some help? yeah and later she could help you wash it tongue.gif and then you can help her wash her LOL lol.gif heheeeeee
my take on this is you wait until you feast your eyes on this monster. i think it'll lift upr our spirit just a little.
