Well, I don't know who else got it, but I got a card a few days ago notifying me of this. The March issue is the last one from Sport Compact Car magazine, and remaining subscriptions are going to be transferred to Modified Magazine (they seem to be Hyundai friendly also though).

Take a moment to say goodbye to a really good magazine. They had done a review of our website years ago, have posted letters by our members, and have always talked pretty good about the improvements in the Hyundai lines.

In March, we lose a good friend.

another victim of the recession.

I really liked scc, I used to subscribe to scc, turbo, and grassroots motorsports. I never had time to read all of them so the first two got nixed in favor of grm. Actually just got a two year sub. from my parents for Christmas. I like grm because they have cars I can afford in it! lmao.gif Tons of budget builds and just guys who like cars. scc and turbo seem to only care about high end, tons of money builds, which I'm kinda bored with. They had their budget stuff as well but it was just a fraction of the magazine.

I just went to scc's website and still no mention of it. I wonder if it's still up in the air. On the other hand I just went to the subscribe link and it's definently not available anymore.

It's posted in their forums too. SCC and Turbo have both been cancelled.

SCC was my favorite magazine. The best one of them all. Way to start the new year off 02.gif

SCC was always good. Modified is good also.

Sucks to see them go.

Another case of shareholders f***ing up a good thing. Corporate America could f**k up a free lunch.

Bummer. Hate to say it, but the way things are going for anything at the old Primedia camp they'll all get ditched soon. Which means.... Good things for us. We'll get a fresh new take on the industry as it stands now, but private owned publications, similar to Dsport or the OLD Rob Laidlaw Modified Mags.

Sucks since we've been reading Turbo and SCC for so long, but we've also been used to having a white president. Times is a changin. I hope the next era for us will be a good one smile.gif

I hate to see the magazine leave, but I've found a new friend with Modified Mag. They've got the Genesis Coupe on the cover this month, and I plan to buy it and read it.
