How did the situation turn out? Was the cop cool, or was he a dick to you? I often thought about what I would do if I had my piece in the glovebox or center console, while getting pulled over. I pretty much would hand my drivers license and pistol permit to the cop as soon as he walked up and I would let him know where the gun was, what kind, and that it was not loaded (I never keep a loaded firearm in my car). I would imagine the cop would probably make me get out and check everything, but hopefully with me giving him the info right away, he wouldnt be an ass to me.

Law varies by state whether you are required to let the officer know immediately or only if he asks. I have not been in the situation, but carry on myself even in the car (WA State Patrol were taught INCORRECTLY that you have to have the weapon on you in a vehicle for your permit to cover it). I would not say I had a weapon unless asked.
Yeah, but I roll the windows down quickley to let the smoke out!.......................Oh you mean weapons!!, any weapon in a car here is jail time!!, c'ept a rifle with a hunting permit......I could only imagine the retards up here with guns, itd be crazy!!. Hell , Even i "loose it "once in awhile,If, I was allowed to pack, I'd be on skid row now!
