Default estimated 1/4 mile time

i was playing with an HP calculator and i think i got the closest to 300whp and i came up with this: Your tiburon weighs about 2800 pounds and can complete a 1/4 mile in about 12.3 seconds. That means that you've got about 297.39 HP at the wheels, and about 386.61 HP at the flywheel.

you guys think this is accurate?

real world situations will cause problems. humidity, sea level, tires, etc etc...its possible though. i'm pushing 310awhp and getting 12.9's. Esp with an awd launch too. in close to 100% humidity.

12.3 is a lil fast... think about gearing and traction as well

its not just the engine power but the design of the car too like the suspension, gear ratio, ect. But anyways i have a friend with a 99 civic si with a Greddy TD05H-18G Turbo Kit Tested about 306.2HP and does the quarter in 12.7 And the Civic does weigh more than the tiburon but not much more. But to your calculations your numbers seem a bit high in your Fly wheel to Wheel conversion.

our tranny eats about 15% of 140hp, not 15% of ANY flywheel hp. the parasitic loss through the drivetrain isn't completely dynamic...it's more static. it's about 20hp lost through the drivetrain. if you have 297whp, you have about 320 crank hp. if our trannies ate 15% dynamically, they wouldn't last too long with turbos.

I only typed in the estimated 1/4 mile time and weight of the car the whp ands the fhp was determined with the hp calculator

I was just curious on how accurate these things were it didnt sound correct to me so i figured i would get some opinions...
