It's a Nissan. Weren't still using Datsun on the 280.

They didn't change their name in the US until they changed over from 82 to 84. The 280z ran from 76 to 78 and the 280zx ran from 79 to 83. The 280zx cars sold as a "Datsun by Nissan", but no US market 280z's sold as Nissans or "Datsun by Nissan" cars.
