no OT? my restaurant is cheap and don't pay OT either, nor get health insurance. they don't care about us. we are just machines. woring 9 days in a row at subway must be a drag... especially long shifts with low wages. OMG. i'd quit in 1 sec. i'd also quit if the conditions were unfair id co-workers would become lazy and i'd have to do their work for them. i've experienced that before... sooooo unfair.
instead of paying OT, they yell at me to get off the clock because it ruins labor time and the owner is paying for the extra time.

i had an interview to intern at Dayton Freight for 2 years, $10 an hour...but they never called me back **sigh**

well i do road construction that consist of laying down 450 degree thermo plastic. so when you see thos arrows, stop lines and croswalks on the road, thats what i do. some people think that it is paint, well it is thermo plastic and it is HOT... yea it reall sucks when you splatter yourself with it, especially in the arm pit like i did the other day.
oh and i am a performance mechanic at a mustang shop. we build 6 and 7 second drag radial class mustangs. i race a true street mustang but i love my tiburon a million times more than any of the race cars.
matter of fact here are a few pictures of the race cars.
look through the windshield of this car, look at the turbo by the coke machine.

that turbo is on this car

here I am working on my true street car

I feel ya on the classes......matter of fact I failed the accounting class I took in college. But I had alot going on then, like my GF (for over a year) moving to Germany. That seriously screwed up my life....
but now, looking back on it (the class) It was nothing compared to some of the stuff my co-workers have to deal with.
While at this point last year I was doing AP,AR, and collections, now we have someone dedicated to AP, another dedicated to some of our AR and collections, which basically leaves me with the Billing and the rest of AR.
To answer your question...I've seen alot that was never covered in the class, and also seen stuff that at the time i thought was extremely hard, but after real world experience isn't that hard at all.
I guess it really depends on what kind of accounting you would like to do.
ie :
AP
AR
PR
or whether you are looking at being something like a controller, where it would be more of the advanced stuff, but really more theory than hands on accounting.

No, we have a community college here called TVI, Technical Vocational Institute. There are like 6 campuses across Albuquerque. The VA will pay me to go there for 2 years, then 2 years at University Of New Mexico to get my bachelors.
