ok, so i got my car inspected and what do you know i pass emissions. I should be happy, but im not because i have NO cats on my car! I'm pissed i have to pay 30-40 bucks to get emissions done every year, when it obviously doesn't really matter.

i know im probably wrong, but i need someone to correct me because i can't figure out how my car can pass emissions in PA(almost same as cali if not identical) without any cats.

I think car without cats can pas EURO2 emessions.

All depends on tuning. BTW, how did they test you? Did they put a sensor in tail pipe?

Some cars burn cleaner than others.

If you don't have a CEL, you'll probably pass emissions in most states.

it could depend on a LOT of matters. Many places only hook into the computer and check for codes. If your comp was not throwing a code.. it will pass emissions.

It was not long ago that PA did not even bother checking emissions. I think some counties out in the middle of the state still don't

My license is currently suspended because I didn't go to the test center to get an emission's test.

I just bought two 02 sensors and am waiting on a old Cat from Chris (Flyryde).

In some South Asian Countries, they have already adopted the Euro 3 Emission Norms. All new cars sold must comply. Euro is currently one of the most stringent norms in the world.

It worked.

The air is MUCH cleaner and the rate of respiratory diseases has stopped rising. What shocked the world, is that countries like India have mandated that Euro IV norms be implemented by 2010. Euro IV norms are achieved at a minimum with 2 cats. For reference, India had no norms in 2000. Then, the Supreme Court ruled that ALL Taxis and Buses must convert to CNG - Compressed Natural Gas and that all privately owned vehicles (gas or diesel) must meet Euro II norms.

Never seen a country's air quality improve change so quickly

Currently, I don't have a Cat, and don't even need to show anyone my car to get a tag. Just throw Tito a $20 bill. lmao.gif
But one of these days I'll put on a Cat cause it's not right to polute the air for our children. sad.gif

ok so technically im polluting the same as any other tib that passes emission with cats?

and they do both checks on my car...sniffer and code

as for our emissions they were just enacted 2 years ago, but its not required state wide for almost another 2 i think, its only because i live in berks county.

your state doesnt do a visual examination of the car like cali does.
they have put my car on a the lift just to check out my cat.
usually in all the other states besides cali all they go off is the codes, timing, and exhaust.

i wouldnt be mad about not having a cat i would be proud that i have a clean running car.
you need emmissions because there are allot of cars and trucks that blow black out there tail pipes wich the emmissions is trying to catch.
