Emergency Cash in the safety deposit box / shoe box / home safe/ the mattress.
Should one have 3 months living expenses? Perhaps 6 months? Is there a rule of thumb for this?

I keep 2 grand at all times in my secret hidden home safe, along with some other important documents...just in case something happened where I wasnt able to withdraw any money from the bank.
I keep $100 in various bills in my wallet at all times behind my driver's license, just in case I need cash in an emergency. I use a credit card 99.5% of the time so I NEVER have cash on me. Other than that, it's all in the bank. I don't keep cash in my house. I probably should consider that.

I've got my old tips box in my undies draw. If I need to make a lenghty payphone call, I'm set.
That and some long life milk, a phone charger with a european socket, and a washer bottle from an EG civic. Always prepared.

All my money goes straight into my bank, and I only withdraw cash for cabs and drinking money. Everything else is credit or occasionally debit. Im good at saving so my account never drops below like 5 grand anyways. And Im saving for a house now so I got lots of money. Trying to not spend it is the hard part haha.
