Dude, i just bought my first laptop. just finished ordering it online. I know some of you guys think i shoulda looked around, built my own, had one built etc. but i haggled into getting a 4 yr warranty and all this other crap in..

the computer is going to be used mostly for tuning of the tib, and your basic internet surfing, homework, and maybe some games.
I went a little overboard with some of the options, but what the hell.
Heres the specs.
Intel® Pentium® M Processor 715 (1.50 GHz/2MB Cache/400MHz FSB) (not the fastest thing on the market but it shall suffice)
15.4 inch WXGA LCD Panel (widescreen baby!!!)
128MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY™ RADEON X300 PCI Express x16 Graphics ( a little much for what ill be doing but itll be nice)
1GB DDR2 SDRAM 2 Dimms ( got memory?? gotta be able to have alotta stuff open at once)
40GB Hard Drive (store all that triple x stuff, lol, and exs pics to upload ninja.gif , and CAD)
Microsoft® Windows® XP Home
Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915 Internal Wireless (802.11 a/b/g, 54Mbps) (Centrino Technology baby!!)
6-cell Lithium Ion Battery (53 WHr) (gotta be able to work on it and have it in the tib for a while)
Charcoal Leather QuickSnap™ Cover (gotta rice out my laptop like my car)
Kensington PocketMouse Pro Wireless Mouse (need a mouse so i dont have that laptop touchscreen crap)
Free Dell Color Printer 720 (free is good)
so guys feel free to tell me what you think. i was excited so i had to post..

There are $500 off $1500+ laptop coupons for Dell Home right now, hope you used one. I just bought an Inspiron 6000 last week.
If you read the reviews, the Dell warranty is basically useless. I went with the minimum available, 1 year limited.
Another good tip is to get the standard battery, and buy the upgrade battery as a spare, for $30 more than as the primary battery. Then you can sell the weaker battery on ebay and come out quite a bit ahead.
Finally, you are much better off getting the minimum amount of memory you can from Dell, and buying dimms on ebay. It's less than half the cost for significantly higher quality memory.

i got them to throw in the warranty for free. so i could care less if its good or not, lol.. i talked to one of the reps on the phone, acted really interested if i could get some extra things thrown in, so he threw in the mouse, the extra warranty, and the upgraded graphics card.. i think it ended up costing me 1100.00 shipped, but im financing it thru the dell card thing.. lol
i got standard battery, dont htink ill need a spare. ill have it charging most of the time anyway.
hmm, even if the 'dell' memory isnt top quality, its still plenty for whatever i will need and i dont have to worry about installing it..
cant wait to get it, and into the tibby.. mm tuning..

Hell yes, Cyber Power owns Dell and everyone else! I got an AMD64 PC from them and it ROCKS.
I was just pointing out a few ways people get even better deals, like buying the spare battery and selling the primary one, or getting better memory for half the cost. Without that warranty you could have had a better screen, 80GB hdd, and faster proc for the same money using the $600 off $1750 coupon. But your deal isn't bad and it's hassle free.
