There are $500 off $1500+ laptop coupons for Dell Home right now, hope you used one. I just bought an Inspiron 6000 last week.

If you read the reviews, the Dell warranty is basically useless. I went with the minimum available, 1 year limited.

Another good tip is to get the standard battery, and buy the upgrade battery as a spare, for $30 more than as the primary battery. Then you can sell the weaker battery on ebay and come out quite a bit ahead.

Finally, you are much better off getting the minimum amount of memory you can from Dell, and buying dimms on ebay. It's less than half the cost for significantly higher quality memory.

I just bought a brand new Compaq for $1,169 but after rebates it will be $899. But your comp is pretty awesome for what you wanna do with it. Good luck with it.

I was just pointing out a few ways people get even better deals, like buying the spare battery and selling the primary one, or getting better memory for half the cost. Without that warranty you could have had a better screen, 80GB hdd, and faster proc for the same money using the $600 off $1750 coupon. But your deal isn't bad and it's hassle free.
