We had to dump 2 of those giant waterbottles every morning for coffee. Only use the iraqi water for ice and to cool down drinkable water. Even though it's the Euphraties, the same water from the same river that Jesus was baptised in, it's not really holy water. Unless we're all that evil and that's the effect holy water has on us...

You drank that water. My entire 12 months I was there I never even thought about drink any water that was not in a bottle. And I never ate any of the food either. (tho some of the guys that were on PSD said it was not that bad).

man, that sucks! yeah you always have to boil it first. drinking anything that's not bottled is a hazard. i heard you can catch serious permanent virus like that! even by eating some foreign food.

I drank diet coke from cans we bought from Hajii. He had a great deal. I could buy 2 24pks for $5 and a carton of camel lights for $5 as well. I stayed away from the water. You know that each and every one of the towns along the rivers dump their untreated sewage right into the water?

Yeah.....unfortunately I made a similar mistake with the powder gatorade. Now it's bottled water for everything, lol. Even brushing my teeth. But I'm somewhere else in the middle east, not Iraq.
