If you hear a little tire squeal you will be o.k. If you really start to spin them you will experience the God awful wheel-hop. You will know when this happens and you should back off enough to get rid of it. It can be quite hard on your car. A perfect launch is hard to do with a front drive car with out any kind of limited slip differential. You really just need to take a couple of early practice runs before you pull up and try to dust a Honda. You basically have to use your clutch as well as the gas to moderate the amount of power you are trying to put to the ground. Just remember to try not to overheat your clutch because once you have done that you will not be able to get it to grab very well along with the possibility of glazing the clutch which means it is all but ruined.
Your tires should have a little amount of spin just no so much as your speedo showing 30-40 mph when you have only moved 3 feet!

Good luck with the racing and remember you can beat a faster car with pure intimidation!!!

yeah, that god awful wheelhop,
i got that down pretty good,
i was trying not spin the tires off, and instead i got that.

i was racing a 2001 Tib
at the start they had me by like a car length.
by the end i had them by about 2 feet.
so i beat a new tib with my 90,000 mile 97 tib. i was pretty siked about that.

i beat a souped up neon today too,
he thought he was going to take me,
right before we raced he told me he beat a new camaro.
geuss i showed him what a tibs got,

i just got to get that start right,
Thanks
