Someone help me blow about a $1000 or so. Always wanted to day trade and I set up an E*Trade account and I'm all set. Anyone have any good tips on what industries or companies to invest in?

 

You're gonna need more that $1000. Most broker's charge $8 to $10 for a trade. That's $16 every time you buy then sell a stock. You'll need to make more than $16 on every trade to make it worth doing. If you're not making at least $100 per trade, it's not worth the risk. You'd have to see every stock you buy go up at least 10% if you're only playing with $1000. With $10K to play with, you only need you're stocks to go up 1%.
