Current Thoughts With The Car, And What To Do With It Totalled.....
If it were my car that got totalled, and I had another car, even if it was a beater to drive around in. I'd get as much money for my car as I could from the insurrance, sell and get as much money as I could for the aftermarket and stock parts out the car, put the money in a savings account, and wait and see if all the rumors are true about the next gen Tib! If you did that and threw a few extra bucks here and there into the account each week, you could have close to 10 grand or more to put down on the new Tib. Then you got a brand new tib with another 10 year warranty!
Thats what I would do. then, if the next tib isn't all that, get a cheap RD2 and rebuild the mother from the ground up.

^^ eff that, get another RD2. New tibs have had a 4 year shit track record, stick with what we know and love man... I love my tibby, and you loved yours, so buy another!! Why not buy Push's? If you want to repaint anyways, why not? Good base car.. Low miles, you want to paint anyways, and you know the kid.
i have no extra money for any car payments. so what i buy will have to cost as much as im getting from them. i thought about trading up to a mazda6, but no matter what, id need another 4k to get one, and thats just not possible. so the RD is what i can do, with what im gonna get for cash. if the 6 was in the same price range as the RD, id definitly be getting the mazda right now though.
Dang man reading your post makes me realise how similar we are !
I dont have much money either dude. Everything I have done to my tib I have done myself, and I have had to go hungry because of it a few times.
One example was when I ordered my paint and flakes and stuff.. The web said it was $180 with the shipping and they charged me $270.. I phoned them to see what had happened and apparently it has to ship in 2 boxes, I should have gotten a pop up window telling me but I have a blocker.. So that was it, no laundry or fooid shopping for 2 weeks and I had to eat cans of baked beans and spaghetti for 2 weeks lol..
My tib hasnt cost me alot of money, I reakon I have spent $1500 - $2000 ON it, if that. It cost me $900 so it's still worth more than I spent on it smile.gif Im happy knowing that... Time however? try 2 years AT LEAST 2 full days a week and lately I have been getting up around 9am, working on the tib all day then getting a shower around 5 and walking out the door to work til midnight..
And I feel for you man because I couldnt even imagine how I would feel if my car was totalled.. I mean I have shed a few tears of hapiness over the thing lately, my world would be totally crushed if anything happned to my tib 02.gif
Kudos on getting another one bro, because there really isnt another car out there that's like the tib, and once you have one it's very hard to go back.. A friend of mine in the UK had an RD1, he piled it into a wall and then got a Nissan, forget which one.. However after seeing me starting to toy with mine he took the nissan down to hyundai and traded it in on a brand new GK laugh.gif
Keep the faith my man, god is watching you and he will sort you out soon ! It's only a matter of time, those who work hard to get shit done get there in the end !

Glad to see the passion still runs in you XXX bro.
My suggestion, I know you and I both love the RD2's, but there IS a pretty decently hooked up RD1 for sale on the site, by Screwdriver, up in your area. You might at least want to look at it, it'll be like $3K I think.
If no, let me know, and I'll help you track down something.

I was thinking of sauggesting the same thing Redz, but any exterior mods that have survived wouldnt fit..
The RD1 was definitely the better car, and was alot more expensive new.. The RD2 was trimmed in alot of ways to make it cheaper..
However, they are pretty different looking I guess, and I suppose if RD2 floats your boat it would be difficult to switch..

The RD1 was NOT the better car, that's why they made the RD2, to get rid of the plain looking exterior/interior, ugly wheels, and problem parts (Rev A anyone)? It was more expensive because it was the FIRST of a new chassis, engine, everything.
As for his car, he really didn't do anything externally, just rims.
Hell, for that price, he could make a hybrid RD1/RD2.
