I'm so happy I had to tell somebody, since nobodies home for the next week and no ones answering my calls! lol. Looks like CudaJoe is gonna have a new Hyundai Genesis Coupe by the end of the year =P

^^probably didn't want to pay for a experienced tech. That's how I got my job. They didn't want to pay an experienced software engineer.

either way. Congrats CudaJoe! I still have a few friends that graduated with me in May that still haven't landed a job in there field of study. Its tough out there.

Well, I applied to four different places starting with a headhunter company... I thought that would be a good idea to get me started in finding a job. Terrible idea. Pay is low, and they dont help you find a job, they tell you about a job and give them your resume while they get a finders fee. You STILL have to battle with many other "candidates" whose resumes they've thrown into the hat. If your intelligent you will find the jobs, you dont need someone to tell you something you already knew and put you under contract. The next place I tried was a company called battelle, I figured I could get a job with them seeing how it's not too huge of a company and I came fresh out of UMBC. That was a Research assistant job, paying 45000 a yr. They explained the job to me and it sounded boring and aweful and had nothing to do with lab work. I really wanted the lab work but the pay didnt sound to bad either. The hiring manager read me like a book and knew I want the pay but really wanted to be committed to a lab position. He didnt even call me back or leave me an email telling me the position was filled. I went to the Towson Career fair. That was the biggest waste of time ever.... The should have called it Job awareness day, because all the booth people do is tell you "hey, we are a company that does this so look us up online we may be hiring". <--- When you hear this statement or any statement that leads you to the internet, it means they're not hiring and they want you to go to the internet in order for them to say that.... Then I applied for Siemens Healthcare and Diagnostics, which I've heard about but not understood very well. They had like 20 something positions available, so either a bunch of people were laid off or they got a new building. I applied for the lab tech 3 position because it seemed to be what I wanted to do and also what I studied through school. I didnt actually think I was going to get the job cause I have absolutely no work lab experience outside of school and the job required mid level experience, lol. I fumbled my words around during the interview, but at the same time impressed them with my preparedness. I had gone up to Newark over the weekend just to see how long the drive experience would take and also to buy the barcode thing to pass over the route 40 bridge to avoid paying constant tolls. lol They really liked that. Tomorrow would have been a week after the interview so I was getting nervous and check the website to see if the position was still available... It was no longer on the job listing website, I was immediately bummed out. 2 hours later, The head of the research and Developement team calls me and gives me an offer. Of course I accept right away not caring about pay scale because of this horrible time we live in, lol.

I have no idea dude, but im happy. lol. I could have done the biochemist I position they had too that was entry lvl and paid slightly more, BUT had no lab work. basically it was more dealing with IT stuff and alternate methods of dealing with problems and coming up faster simpler solutions. I did not want that charge.

I applied at Siemens. I'm looking for a biomedical equipment tech job. I'd take III or a SR position. I am trying to fix the stuff that you break.
