Could Texas sustain itself as a separate country?
Serious question...and i picked Texas simply because of size.
If it did secede, could it be a viable country without the federal govt? it could trade with the US, etc...but would it survive as its own country?

IMO yes. There would need to be a lot of "international" trade, but it is a lot better equipped to sustain itself as an independent country than a lot of successful countries.

I see it happening in California sooner than Texas. They're always trying to get their own laws and legalization, and we as a country might kick 'em out before they had a chance to secede.
Yes, I think California and Texas could both sustain. The problem I see is citizenship and free travel across borders.
