Default Costs of getting into paintball

What kind of costs am I looking at if I wanted to get into paintball? Ive always been wanting to try it but never did out of the assumption that it costs quite a bit to buy all the gear, guns, and paint balls. Those that do it, how much do you have invested into the sport?

I have a decent gun I am wanting to sell, however.. I need to go fill a tank and test its seals before I sell it. I probably spent around 200 when I got into it.

I've probably got $3-4k into it, but I don't play anymore.

You can get a Tippmann Model 98 for pretty cheap now. A solid entry marker. I still love mine, no electronics and with a good barrel it shoots as straight as anything. Feels more gun like than most affordable markers.

Most fields will allow you rent equipment and play. If you enjoy the sport then it is like a car you can spend a ton of money or you can spend a little.

Mine is a Tippman A5 with a flatline barrel on it.
