is pc3200 backward to pc 2700? i couldn't remember if it was, thanks and i hope you can help me.

What do you mean by backward? It is backward compatible if that is what you mean.

It's backwards compatible, but there's no advantage if you already have some pc2700, unless it's cheaper for some reason. Your ram will only run as fast as the slowest DIMM. And there's no point buying faster in hopes of later using it on another PC. By the time you get a new mobo, you will want to go with much faster ram.
