I'm scheduled to take my Network+ test tomorrow at 1330. Wish me luck... wink1.gif

Another certification for me! I scored a 731 out of 900. Passing score for this one was 554.

How important are these certs in todays IS/IT world? I had the opportunity in high school to be both A+ and Office certified but never took the tests. I'm graduating from college in a year with an IS degree, is it worth it for me to deal with a couple of these?

Most places I have heard would rather you be certified than have a degree. But to be certified and have a degree would be even better. A certification is supposed to show that you have real world knowledge. If I were you I would get certified because then you have a better resume than all those with just a degree.

Actually you just inspired me to look into it a little and talk to my boss (I'm interning on the desktop support team at a major hospital) about it, and based on what I talked to with him I think I'm going to try to get my A+. It shouldn't be that hard for me due to the fact that I took a class that prepared me for A+ at one point in high school, and I'm more knowledgeable then I was at that point. I'll try a couple of practice tests over the next few days and see where we are.

If you have any questions PM me. Will they pay for your tests? If not you can get them cheaper at www.getcertify4less.com.

Nah, they won't, I'm techically a contracter so I get no perks, although on the upside no taxes are taken out (and due to my college student/part time income I never pay much in taxes). I'll be sure to hit you up if I need help. Do you use an instant messenger of some sort?
