Greatest thing to happen to C-Span since they started covering those foreign political meetings (where they start screaming in some language that sounds like angry monkeys and sometimes start throwing food at eachother over political hell-hole arguments).

 

i was watching it live. he really is a great speaker who draws you in. the problem was he was basically insulting the president a little bit by making a reference to the movie Rocky and how Rocky fights but loses at the end.

his jokes weren't really all that funny but he he mentioned Louisiana being a chocolate cake goddamn. and then went on to say that Wash D.C. is a chocolate cookie with a marshmellow center. OMG i spit my drink out when i heard that because that is sooooo damn true. then he went to say that the cookie was crumbling. OH MY GOD that was sooo f*cking hilarious. feet away from the president, saying the truest statements i'd ever heard about this shunned place. seems almost as if Colbert is a native to D.C.

he basically brought race into his speech. that's crazy, you're never supposed to do that. i'm not a racist, prejudice or have anything against anyone who is good, but if a place is rundown and you find yourself in an area at night with a 90% chance of getting robbed, harassed, raped, stabbed, shot, or killed regardless of skin color then for chrissake there's something wrong with the place.

i thought the presentation was really awkward at times, but still a good presentation. the ending really sucked because it looked like it was made like 30 mins before the dinner and it was kind of annoying at times. but after the few facts he pointed out i think i like the guy for being plain honest.

 

No shit, you should watch the Colbert Report more often, and even the Daily Show...
