Last night, I was driving around with my wife as we finished running. We rarely cruise at night but decided to drive around for a little bit. Anyways, this guy in a white Prelude ( probably a 1999 to 2000 model, I don't know for sure) pulls up next to me and starts reving his motor. I ignore him and keep driving at 35mph. Well the guy keeps at it and I'm starting to get a little pissed. At that moment, I want to race him but then I think to myself that I dont' want to risk getting a ticket and ruining the perfect rates I'm getting on my insurance so I decide not to do it. Less then a few seconds after I come to my conclusion, a van turns and cuts right in front of me but almost hits the Prelude as the Van was turing into a drive in. The Prelude had to hit the breaks to keep from slamming into the side of the van. If we would've raced, there is no doubt that there would've been an accident. I'm pretty sure the van would've slammed into the Prelude or the Prelude would've hit the van broadside. I'm glad I resisted my youthful temptation. Just goes to show save the racing for the track!!

To top it off, another guy in a older model Prelude (probably mid 90's model) tries to race me too. In addition, an Escort and one of those new square looking Toyota lunch box cars try to race with me later that night as well. I don't know what the hell was going on last night but no one tries to race me. Guess the kids wanted to play last night. Not me, I know how expensive and foolish racing can be..

Congrats on that Cyber, it takes a bigger man not to drop down a gear and punch the throttle.

Thats why I don't drive fast at night. Reasons why:

- My vision sucks first of all... barely good enough to pass the eye test.
- Damned animals always like to run around at night, and you cant see as far.

Anyone who speeds at night is retarded in my book.

EDIT: Don't get me started on the lunchboxes. They make like 90 to the wheels. lol.gif I came out the golf course one day shifting normal in my Tib, and there is one beside me... turns out he thought I was racing, when I was shifting @ 3500RPM. lol.gif He was going full throttle in the automatic.

I thought it was pretty funny too. The driver was a clueless fat guy with glasses that kept looking at me over his shoulder. His car sounded like it only had an aftermarket muffler. I guess he thought he was hot shizz. lol.gif
You know, I only drove around for about 20 minutes..I can only imagine what else would've tried to race me if I had stayed out longer.

Dude, he put the fear of god in me..hehe I was so embarrased for the guy. He even had those cheesy looking pink graphics on the sides of his lunch box.

Thanks Silver for the support, it does take some will power to resist racing when people pull stunts like that (even for an old man like me ) wink1.gif

I know there are posts about racing that pop up every once in a while so I guess I thought this would be a good oportunity to post an antistreet racing experince. smile.gif

yea.. I am looking forwards to summer around here with all the tourists who want to race. You did good though, sometimes you need a little reminder like that. Congratulations on passing the test.
